Alison Scott is the strongest new voice to come to come out of the Minneapolis music scene in many years. Her soulful, organic, sound completely ignores the rules of cool that define so much of today’s music. Working with platinum and Grammy-winning guitarist/producer Kevin Bowe (Paul Westerberg, Etta James, Jonny Lang), drummer Peter Anderson (Polara, Honeydogs) and bassist Steve Price (Rex Daisy) the band has been performing sold out shows at Mpls venues like the Dakota, Fine Line and Varsity Theater along with several exclusive benefits and corporate functions. Her new CD was listed as one of the year’s top 10 by the St. Paul Pioneer Press. The word is out… for more information about Alison Scott go to: http://www.alisonscott.com

CRUISIN’ ON THE CROIX-STILLWATER’S HOT ROD & VINTAGE CAR SHOW
There’s nothing better than a summer evening spent down by the river in downtown Stillwater. Cruising on the Croix provides a great free, family-friendly event every Wednesday in June, July, and August (with the exception of July 22) from 5:00 to 10:00 pm. The first 125 cars will receive a dash plaque. There will also be live music on the first Wednesday of each month from 6:00 to 9:00.

The show will be downtown along the scenic St. Croix River stretching from Chestnut Street north to Mulberry. Vendors will be on hand selling the usual car show fare: hot dogs, hamburgers, ice cream, tacos, coffee, lemonade, and so forth. The vendor’s fees will go toward downtown beautification. Valley Outreach will also be running a Pepsi booth: their proceeds will go directly to benefit the food shelf.

Bring the whole family out to check out the great vintage rides and soak up the summer sun!
