New Executive Chef at the Historic Water Street Inn
Judy and Chuck Dougherty, owners of the Water Street Inn located in downtown Stillwater, are excited to announce the hiring of a new Executive Chef, Adam Randall, to head up the kitchen for the Grille Restaurant, Charlie’s Irish Pub & Porch, The Jameson Deck and the Riverview Banquet & Conference Center.
Chef Adam Randall comes with a great and diverse background, and most recently he was the Executive Chef at Stone’s Restaurant and Lounge in Stillwater.  “With his strong background in variety of different food operations; including fine dining, causal pub food and banquet & catering – he is well rounded and well versed for our business.  We are absolutely thrilled and welcome changes in our restaurant operation” stated Judy Dougherty.
“In talking with Chef Adam during the interviewing process, it was refreshing to hear his overall approach to our operation and how he runs his kitchen, including the importance of how all the parts need to work together to best serve our guests. We are ecstatic about his addition and are looking forward to some exciting changes in our menu over the next few months!” remarked Chuck Dougherty Innkeeper, Water Street Inn.

CRUISIN’ ON THE CROIX-STILLWATER’S HOT ROD & VINTAGE CAR SHOW
There’s nothing better than a summer evening spent down by the river in downtown Stillwater. Cruising on the Croix provides a great free, family-friendly event every Wednesday in June, July, and August (with the exception of July 22) from 5:00 to 10:00 pm. The first 125 cars will receive a dash plaque. There will also be live music on the first Wednesday of each month from 6:00 to 9:00.

The show will be downtown along the scenic St. Croix River stretching from Chestnut Street north to Mulberry. Vendors will be on hand selling the usual car show fare: hot dogs, hamburgers, ice cream, tacos, coffee, lemonade, and so forth. The vendor’s fees will go toward downtown beautification. Valley Outreach will also be running a Pepsi booth: their proceeds will go directly to benefit the food shelf.

Bring the whole family out to check out the great vintage rides and soak up the summer sun!

Jameson Club Letter

June 9th, 2009 by chuck

Bienvenido Jameson Enthusiasts!

I wanted to remind you that Tuesday June 9th is Jameson Club Night at the Water Street Inn. Get your punches in by that date and you can start getting your free Jameson! If you’ve already completed your punches and have your redeemer card then come in for a free one and take half off the rest of the night!

We are now 45 members strong with 7 individuals who have completed their quest of 10 drinks, plus 3 John Fresonkes. Nice job whiskey cadets!

I told you about this in last month’s newsletter; but here it is again. In case you haven’t heard: there is a NEW happy hour starting NOW. It is so exciting that I can barely contain my glee. Two for one’s from 9-close Sun-Thurs and 11-close Fri-Sat until further notice (not on event night / holiday). Just show a local ID (Washington / St. Croix Counties) or a room key to get in on this one. However, you can’t combine it with your punches. But, on the bright side it does include Jameson, Grey Goose, Guinness and more! This special is at both Charlie’s Pub and the Jameson Bar (weather permitting).

Jameson lovers, I offer you a challenge: get your friends in on this club before June 30th and you could win a bottle of Jameson. Refer 7 friends to get in on the card punches and I’ll buy you a bottle of the good stuff for your home bar. Tell your friends to write referred by (your name) on their registration card. To make that deal even sweeter: the 100th member is getting a big boy of Jameson – 1.75 Liter bottle. Good luck!

Last month we told you about the re-naming of our north bar, Charlie’s Jameson Bar, and would like to announce that we now carry all of our expressions of Jameson outside including the 12 year, Gold Reserve, and many of our fine Scotch, Irish and Bourbon Whiskeys. Even (gasp) the Midleton Very Rare, a dram of which I was lucky enough to enjoy this week with Chuck and Tim; as we wished Tim a safe journey to North Carolina for Marine training before heading to Iraq this Fall. Also, we have secured some beautiful Ridel dram glasses for savoring our top shelf whiskeys, so please come down and enjoy them.

A special congrats to the Fresonke/Chirpich group who have secured four new memberships since the last newsletter.

UPDATE ON BEST SELLING JAMESON DRINKS

#1 Irish Car Bomb, #2 Emerald Butterfly, #3 Jameson Ginger

Other news-worthy info: I put Jameson on our chilled shot machine and it’s awesome with Red Bull. We call it a “Jamo-Bomb”

Remember that Charlie’s Irish Pub has live music every Friday and Saturday night – year round starting at 7:30pm. June 12/13 Patsy O’Brien, June 19/20 & 26/27 will be Paul and Lorraine.
