The Langers Ball: Hannah Rediske (Accordion, Recorders, & Penny Whistles), Michael Sturm (Guitar, Mandolin, Harmonica & Vocals) The Langer’s Ball is a Twin Cities based Irish Pub band. With accordion and guitar as the primary instrumentation, The Langer’s Ball has a full hearty sound that will make you stomp your feet and raise your pint. http://www.myspace.com/thelangersball

September 4 & 5
Two Tap Trio: Brian Miller (guitar, vocals, Irish flute, whistles) Nathan Gourley (Fiddle), Norah Rendell (flute, vocals) The Two Tap Trio had its genesis in the Fall of 2005 when Vancouver singer and flute player Norah Rendell and Twin Cities guitarist Brian Miller found themselves both on musical pilgrimages in Ireland. 2007 finds Norah and Brian both living in Minneapolis with a debut duo album of gorgeous traditional and contemporary folk songs and driving Irish dance tunes, Wait There Pretty One, out in October of 2007. The addition of young fiddler Nathan Gourley makes for a live show that fans of Irish music with strong traditional roots and top notch musicality won’t want to miss.

September 11 & 12
Paul and Lorraine:  Lorraine Garland  (violin and vocals) and Minnesota geneticist Paul Score (guitar and vocals.) They take on a fine variety of musical styles and territory, along with such subjects as love and death, (often in the same song) and happiness and despair (also often in the same song), with cool melodies and strange lyrics from such diverse songwriters as Neil Gaiman, Jane Yolen, Stephen Merritt, Todd Menton and Emma Bull, with some severely damaged traditional tunes and original songs penned by the band. Fabulous Lorraine rose to fame with her duo the Flash Girls in the mid 90’s, (“the find of the year and perhaps beyond” – Utne Reader).

Sep. 18 & 19  and 25 & 26
The Irish Brigade: Mike Wallace (guitar, bass, boudhran, vocals), Joe Smith (guitar, bass, boudhran, vocals, fiddle, Uilleann Pipes). Born in limerick city Mike moved to the United States in the 70s he played in Ireland’s Heritage, and The Old Triangle, before forming The Irish Brigade.  A consummate stage performer Mike has been happy to spend his time on stage with such great performers as Peter Yeates, Steve Mulligan, Joe Burk, Noel Hill, Paddy O’Brien, Larry Nugent, Gerry Goodwin, Sean Conway and Darren Crossey. Joes outstanding vocals combined with his mastery of a wide range of instruments makes him a great performer to watch and listen to. He is a native son of Minnesota but has Irish music in his blood and has been playing most of his life. You can hear the influence of the likes of The Beatles, The Clancy Brothers, The Dubliners, Rory Gallaher, Stan Rogers and many more as you listen to this great duet so don’t miss your chance to see them live. http://www.theirishbrigadeband.com

Konnichiwa Jameson Enthusiasts!
I wanted to remind you that Tuesday August 11th is Jameson Club Night at the Water Street Inn. Get your punches in by that date and you can start getting your free Jameson! If you’ve already completed your punches and have your redeemer card then come in for a free one and take half off the rest of the night!
New Members:
We are now 78 members strong with 13 individuals who have completed their quest of 10 drinks. Congrats to the following new members: Patrick (from the land) Dow (under) and Matt Cass.
July Recap:
Glad to see all of the completed members throughout the month of July. We had a great month with some great nights at Charlie’s with friends and cohorts that made for some pretty funny stories. Thanks to you we were able to record a 600% increase in Jameson sales for the month, which hopefully caught the eye of our insiders with Jameson’s parent company. I’m sure we are likely to see several more great promotions with Jameson, Malibu and more!
