September 11 & 12
Paul and Lorraine: Lorraine Garland (violin and vocals) and Minnesota geneticist Paul Score (guitar and vocals.) They take on a fine variety of musical styles and territory, along with such subjects as love and death, (often in the same song) and happiness and despair (also often in the same song), with cool melodies and strange lyrics from such diverse songwriters as Neil Gaiman, Jane Yolen, Stephen Merritt, Todd Menton and Emma Bull, with some severely damaged traditional tunes and original songs penned by the band. Fabulous Lorraine rose to fame with her duo the Flash Girls in the mid 90’s, (“the find of the year and perhaps beyond” – Utne Reader).Â
